WILDPLASTIC®'s story

by Christian Sigmund, co-founder

When we set out on our journey with Wildplastic, I was genuinely surprised by how quickly we were able to find truly great partners. In fact, we ended up with more investor interest than we actually needed. But I have to say, this wasn’t just luck – it was the result of a lot of effort we put into building relationships and having open, honest check-ins with everyone involved. We spent a lot of time discussing expectations, understanding what we were doing differently, and why those differences mattered. It was time well spent, but it required a pioneering spirit.

Our approach was to focus on the idea and the change we wanted to make. Only in the second step did we explain that we believed steward-ownership to be the best vehicle to achieve our goals. This way, our partners were aligned with our mission first, and they could see how steward-ownership fit into that bigger picture.

Mission first, steward-ownership second.
