Depending on your financing journey, at this point you have either already developed a concrete proposal for your financing needs and scenarios or you have decided to work through these together with your investors.
This chapter revolves around the steward-ownership-aligned financing specific conversations you probably will be having with investors during and after they have shown interest in investing in your company. It is designed to help you build up a functioning investor-company relationship by talking about and designing the relevant structural and relational parts of the investment.
This part of your journey can look very different depending on your fundraising journey and the investors you talk to. For some, these conversations will already be part of the initial fundraising, for others they will only become a topic after the initial commitments are made. While some companies approach investors with close-to-finalized term sheets or LOIs, others co-develop the most aligned financing structure together with their investors. If you have investors more experienced with steward-ownership, the focus might be different than with investors who are completely new to this form of investing.
